Donate Life Ohio

February 17th, 2010. By admin.

Seth Kushner was chosen to shoot for the new Donate Life Ohio campaign at the University of Ohio before the holidays. The campaign launched a few weeks ago and the creatives were only aiming for commercials to promote organ donation. After seeing Seth’s images and the way he captures raw emotion with an organic feel they decided to add a print element. Seth couldn’t be happier to shoot people who are involved in such a great cause. He photographed 25 people who are connected to the program on one way or another, recipients, donors or family members. It was a great shoot and the images are exactly what they wanted for their client.

Visually STUNNING

January 20th, 2010. By admin.

I saw their first show De Laguardia and loved it so much I’d seen it over a dozen times. When the second show came out I couldn’t wait for my head to pound in excitement. Over the break it was my second time around seeing the visually stunning show – FUERZA BRUTA. I will say that it was even better (if possible) the second time around and more captivating than De Laguardia. The concept is so simple a show that goes on above you, and yet blows your mind at everything there is to see around you. The whole show from the water shield above you, dancing and the guy running on a treadmill through a series of walls in the middle of the floor. Not only is it visually stunning it’s also a sensory overload to what to look at an absorb next. Just fricken aahhh-MAZING. IMG00345

Bitter about Twitter.

January 7th, 2010. By admin.

Dudes…I know I’m getting older and technology is getting, well…more SOPHISTICATED.  This, I’m aware of as I humbly try to learn as much as I possibly can whenever I have the time.  In the past year, I’ve flickered, facebooked, linked-in, and pinged.  Hell, I’ve even photoshopped, hyper-urled, and coded!  I’m getting there, trying to keep up with most junior high kids.

Despite my vast knowledge (only impressive to my grandmother, I’m sure), I can’t get the hang of Twitter.  I mean, really, how the hell can you follow it all?  There’s just not enough time in a day.  Yesterday, I posted something and literally 2 minutes later there were 47 new posts.  I only follow 44 people!!!!

Twitter is putting me on the train to crazytown. @this and @that and tinyurls and blah blah blah…my brain is slowly swelling as I type this.

I’m a sucker though – so I’m sure I’ll post the link to this blog on my Twitter page as soon as I hit publish.  Will anyone see it?  Maybe, maybe not.  But at least it’s out there, and I can take a deep breath before watching my next “how to do something using the internet” on youtube.com.

Now, if YOU want to follow us on Twitter, we’re pretty funny.  I THINK you can just click below, but then again, what the hell do I know?

In the meantime, I’ll be on the phone with my Grandma, explaining the art of the blog.  That’ll stroke the ego a bit.

And speaking of phones – check out Joshua Scott’s latest electronics shot below.  I had to plug a photographer – after all, this IS a photo agency blog!

‘Tis the season to be … THANKFUL.

December 18th, 2009. By admin.

As 2009 comes to an end, we at K2 Creative would like to thank everyone for their support this year. It’s not easy being a new company – ESPECIALLY a new photo agency in an already over-saturated market.
We’ve been open for 5 months, officially, and we’re humbled by the encouragement and best wishes we’ve received, as well as by the dedication of the artists we represent.

When we set out to do this, Katie and I had only a few rules – honesty and simplicity were a must, and we had to have fun. It’s been a blast – no, a PLEASURE, working with all of you this year. While we’ve faced challenges, it’s been worth the effort to see our business grow so quickly.

In the new year, we’re coming full force – bringing on two additional artists, keeping the same positive attitudes, and getting back on the phones. We believe in the basics here – work with excellent talent, and present them as such. We pride ourselves on leaving the fluff outside with the frills, and will maintain that same attitude as we step approach the next 365 days.

We’re looking forward to building new relationships and celebrating those we already cherish.

Wishing you all a happy holiday season, and a 2010 filled with love,

Kristy & Katie

Charity Water

December 1st, 2009. By admin.

I can’t believe it’s already that time of the year where people are dragging x-mas trees across city blocks and bell ringers are just about everywhere you turn. This time of the year makes me think about a charity I have given too for the past 3 years, Charity Water.

I actually learned about it when an photographer I used to work with was looking at pairing up with them for her art show. They have done some amazing things throughout the world, bringing safe drinking water to people in developing nations. When I heard that $20 can give one person clean water for 20 years I was shocked and decided to sign up. Check out the Charity Ball that’ll be in NYC within the next few weeks.
